USPS Plan to Repurpose Tulsa Processing Facility

Updated: Jul 25

"The lack of engagement of citizens and leaders in this community is completely unacceptable. These changes impact everything from accessibility to citizens exercising their right to vote"

Tulsa, OK - State Representative Monroe Nichols, candidate for Tulsa’s next mayor, expressed concern over the plan to reduce operations at the U.S. Postal Service Processing Facility.

"The Tulsa facility is critical to Tulsa and northeast Oklahoma," Rep. Nichols stated. "The lack of engagement of citizens and leaders in this community is completely unacceptable. These changes impact everything from accessibility to citizens exercising their right to vote. Despite the promise of $40 billion in new capital investments, this plan will adversely impact urban and rural communities alike.”

"As a state legislator for the past eight years, I know how important reliable postal service is to my constituents and our community overall," Rep. Nichols emphasized. "I understand how critical this facility is to our city and I have met with the hard working postal workers here in Tulsa to hear their concerns. I join members of Congress, leaders of Tribal Nations and the Tulsa City Council in the call to the Postmaster General and the Board of Governors of the United States Postal Service to listen to citizens and vacate the plan to repurpose the Tulsa Processing Facility.”
